چکیده
Let G = (V,E) be a connected graph on n vertices. Denote by l̄(G) the average distance between all pairs of vertices in G. The remoteness ρ(G) of a connected graph G is the maximum average distance from a vertex of G to all others. The aim of this paper is to show that two conjectures in [5] concerned with average distance, radius and remoteness of a graph are true.

New bounds on proximity and remoteness in graphs
The average distance of a vertex $v$ of a connected graph $G$is the arithmetic mean of the distances from $v$ to allother vertices of $G$. The proximity $pi(G)$ and the remoteness $rho(G)$of $G$ are defined as the minimum and maximum averagedistance of the vertices of $G$. In this paper we investigate the difference between proximity or remoteness and the classical distanceparameters diameter a...
متن کاملThe remoteness of the permutation code of the group $U_{6n}$
Recently, a new parameter of a code, referred to as the remoteness, has been introduced. This parameter can be viewed as a dual to the covering radius. It is exactly determined for the cyclic and dihedral groups. In this paper, we consider the group $U_{6n}$ as a subgroup of $S_{2n+3}$ and obtain its remoteness. We show that the remoteness of the permutation code $U_{6n}$ is $2n+2$. Moreover, ...
متن کاملRemoteness and distance, distance (signless) Laplacian eigenvalues of a graph
Let G be a connected graph of order n. The remoteness of G, denoted by ρ, is the maximum average distance from a vertex to all other vertices. Let [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] be the distance, distance Laplacian and distance signless Laplacian eigenvalues of G, respectively. In this paper, we give lower bounds on [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [For...
متن کاملOn Complementary Distance Signless Laplacian Spectral Radius and Energy of Graphs
Let $D$ be a diameter and $d_G(v_i, v_j)$ be the distance between the vertices $v_i$ and $v_j$ of a connected graph $G$. The complementary distance signless Laplacian matrix of a graph $G$ is $CDL^+(G)=[c_{ij}]$ in which $c_{ij}=1+D-d_G(v_i, v_j)$ if $ineq j$ and $c_{ii}=sum_{j=1}^{n}(1+D-d_G(v_i, v_j))$. The complementary transmission $CT_G(v)$ of a vertex $v$ is defined as $CT_G(v)=sum_{u in ...
متن کاملVariable Neighborhood Search for Extremal Graphs, 24. Results about the clique number
A set of vertices S in a graph G is a clique if any two of its vertices are adjacent. The clique number ω is the maximum cardinality of a clique in G. A series of best possible lower and upper bounds on the difference, sum, ratio or product of ω and some other common invariants of G were obtained by the system AGX 2, and most of them proved either automatically or by hand. In the present paper,...
